Junkers Ju 388 propeller sets by Henri Daehne!

Post by Thomas_M »

My friend Henri Daehne has just send me his newest set of 1/32 resin propellers! This time it is a replacement for the ones provided in the AIMS conversion set for a Junkers Ju 388, based on Revell´s Ju 88 kit.

If you ever had the chnace to see Henri´s stunning work you know that I am more than impressed on his skills. His propellers are based on his own research and measurements on preserved original parts. He does the masters in metal, which then are cast in resin. Meanwhile, he has done quite a number of propeller sets, each of them a small kit of their own!

This is his recent list of sets available:

And here are the pictures he did send me on his 1/32 Ju 388 L-1/K-1 propellers. Much better that using the AIMS propeller hub, which has a really thick wall thickness. Now, I can choose to use the proepllers with or without the hub. Last one would show the superb detail on Henri´s resin parts!

And here the set without the propeller hub. Look at this detail!

Wow! Not something that I can use. But I sure can appreciate the craftsmanship in these.

:that: Does he do any in 1/48 or 1/72 scale? Curious...

Tom,
Henri does them in 1/32 only. Sorry, but you will have to move to this scale up, hehe...

Thomas, I feel compelled to respond with sincerest thanks for these images and words! I remember contacting Mr Daehne several months ago to ask him if he made 1/48 propeller sets and he was so gracious when he responded. I contacted him again to ask if he made a propeller set for the 1/32 Trumpeter 109G-10 and once again he was so gracious when he responded. He provided me with the same list you posted so I would stop asking him questions, but he was extremely nice to me. If you do speak with him, I think of him with utmost respect for his craftsmanship. He is an artist.

Bruce,
Henri is indeed a very nice chap! Had the pleasure to talk to him on the phone, and would invite him to my house immediately! His work is to the highest standard, based on the best information or original parts available.

That is some beautiful work. You just can't get that kind of detail in plastic. It would almost be a shame to install the spinner and cover some of that detail.
