Hasegawa Type 99 assault and lt bomber

Got this kit in a while back, and just couldn't get to it before work season started back up. I have a couple others that showed up this summer, that I'll be gettin to as well.



The "Sonia" looks fairly basic and should go quickly. Nice, typical Hasegawa moldings, with nice recessed lines.



The "Lily" is a bit more involved...there's a bit more airplane there! Molds are of the same quality.



These are both begging for just a little more "help"...a rivet job would go a long way! Being reviews though...OOB.

Separate instruction sheets for each plane, but the markings are all on one sheet.



I will likely go with the camo versions on these...as the ones depicted on the box top are rather boring.

I'm always amazed at how many there were...and they all look alike!!!

Starting with "Sonia"...

Pretty basic and straight forward...no fit issues...not a lot of detail. It's a good base to expand on though.



There is molded detail on the IP's...being an OOB review, I used the decals. Despite several heavy doses of micro-sol, those decals barely budged...typical.
I just brush painted everything else and did a dark wash. Not much will be visible with the canopy closed up (no option for open canopies)





...and "Lily"...



This one is just the same as the "Sonia"...just a different shape!



The landing/taxi lights were loaded with flash and are not a great fit into the wing. I'll have some filling to do around the edges and they'll get sanded flush when I sand the rest of the wing.

There is a bit more to the pit on this one, but again, not much will really be visible anyway.

I think the Sonia is actually an old Mania kit. Not that this is a bad thing. Those guys where way ahead of their time.
