Thank you for the humor and the encouragement, Carlos and Joe! I packed away the kit for 24 hours to give me perspective as well, Novus polish, new paint and sanding film are en route, the sun is shining and it feels like summer today. I am taking it easy this weekend... although I want to sand the tricky seam running around the car itself, and I was planning to buy new Bic shavers so I can at least try making another windshield replacement, and I want to try out Gator Grip glue on the plastic join (could be solution), also the driver height and probably going to lose more of the legs as well (could be a bummer) and waiting for special resin parts.

Apologies to you both! I thought I wrote a few lines of explanation when I posted the two images! This is the second version trimmed to fit the area. The sides terminate at the doors. These windscreens have three parts — although my plan was to use just the dashboard center based on the race photos.

WINDSHIELD

After gently filing, and again using heat (this time a travel steamer), I still see the memory in the plastic from all the bending, smoothing and forming, and I don't know if that will just be repeated again if I start on a new piece of plastic.
I spot glued or tacked or temporarily glued the screen using white glue / canopy glue 550. I don't think this will hold quite well because the surface edge of the screen is flat on the bottom and the quarter panel is sloped. I did this just to get a better feel for the way the shield looks.
Now I have to wait 24 hours for the glue to cure....

Maybe the color of tires is a bit off. Or were skin colored pneus a hot thing back in the days?

Great to see you! Happy New Year... well, 16 Days New Year now... but, still, the new feels fresh and full of possibilities for us all!

I know that is one giant hand... I was excited by using indirect light for many of these latest photographs. I like the softness that using indirect light brings.

Dan Gurney passed last week in Newport Beach, CA.

From the L.A. Times:

Gurney began racing in 1955 and won in nearly every racing series he attempted. He drove for Ferrari, BRM, Porsche and Brabham in Formula One, then formed his own team. He won the Belgian Grand Prix in 1967 in his own car, the first and only time an American won an F1 race in a car of his own design.

Gurney teamed with A.J. Foyt that year to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a Ford GT40, and he's often credited with starting the tradition of spraying the champagne from the podium at that race.

Gurney retired from driving in 1970 with 51 victories.
