Regarding the paint, I am afraid it will not be an easy task.. to get it not only shiny and nice but also smooth..
Have you decided the colour of your Triumph ? Single colour, but which. Bruce sent some very nice (and crispy) options in the Color chart...

And that is a good question! I have been thinking the same for a while now and have decided to paint bits & pieces first and then glue them. Of course this means, that the building stage halts before all necessary paintwork has been done. And now it's sort of halted.. I would need to paint the bottom and the visible parts of the engine first, before I can add the front suspension.

No sure yet, I'm torn between British Racing Green or a Red Either should look pretty cool with all the crome.

I'm not sure what to do in regards to build/paint order - this is all a bit new to me. As presnet I think I'm going to build up the running gear and suspension and then paint it. This is mainly due to the amount of clean up I'm going to have to do in regards to flash etc. I'll paint the engine seperatly and add it later.

The British Racing Green would definitely look very very nice on your Triumph! So my vote goes for the BRG !
(and immediately I get this huge need to build something that I could paint in that lovely special green colour)

And makes sense your plan!
But to be honest, who am I to come with recommendations when it comes to car builds... My last one was made decades ago... so waiting for our car builder Guru Mustang1989 to come with his advice with our journey into car building...

Thanks and yes I have seen. My "local" hobby shop Domino Models sell Zero paints. I have never tryed them and have read some inconsistent reviews regarding them. One part tells they are great, while other say they are very difficult paints. But then to be honest, isn't that what every paint gets. Always so many different opinions.. :-)

But yes, Zero paints is absolutely a very realistic option

I read your thread about “Gravity Colors” with great interest! I’m thinking about a single color match between “Gravity” and “Zero,” perhaps. I do worry about consistency! Some of my colors from Mig AMMO are a bit different... some are more of a glazing agent. I think this makes sense if the company is best known for its weathering products. I like the basic Vallejo range so far as it is so much like good old artist’s acrylics, but the Mig AMMO color shades are convincing realistically. I am studying “Dull Dark Green.”

I am excited to read through your painting plan—original and correct for an engine to be painted in a factory sectional approach!!

Here's a question - If you use gloss paints would you bother with a gloss clear coat over it?
