Happens to me all the time. It can be difficult to get after it sometimes. I wanted to do some more stuff on my 109 yesterday evening after we got the twins to bed, but when the time came around I was exhausted from my day at work, and my kitchen was badly in need of cleaning. When 8:30 rollled around and I was done with all that, I was bushed. I’ll get back after it today. If we woke up this morning, then there’s always today.

Hi Carlos! Your work looks great! I did a little research on this plane (yeah, I know: “a little research, a lot of danger!”). There are only two surviving mki types left in the world! One survivor is at Midlands Museum in the UK, I don’t know where the second one is... do you? Also, who knew this a/c design features plywood? So, the silver is “silver aluminum paint,” right? Cheers!

Kenny, I hear you loud and clear. I do have some down time coming up soon, and maybe this time, I will be able to take advantage of it. Overtime at work is great for the paycheck, but makes sleep on my off time a little more appealing. 18 hour shifts are long days... did someone say coffee?

Bruce, yes indeed, DeHavilland repeated their molded plywood technique of the Mosquito on this aircraft. Although there was a much higher metal content in this aircraft than in the Mossie. But yes, no British made service aircraft that I am aware of, was in bare metal. After WWII, the switch to “High Speed Silver” was not to NMF, but was instead an Aluminum Lacquer finish. I knew about the Midlands Air Museum F.1 Vampire, but have not found the other you mention.... not yet anyways...

Well, at least you are healthy! I"ve been fighting this flu for weeks now and I currently have a splitting headache. Every time I go into my Hobby Room, I try to do something. I usually get about three or four small things done before the headache and fatigue set in. Man I HATE being sick!!!

My birthday was yesterday and I was too sick to enjoy it! I'm currently living vicariously through everyone else here in between my medicated naps to try and recover. Still, I'm feeling better and better each day so I'm still planning on attending the Pasadena Valleycon.

As for coffee, I'll send you an I.V. tube; it works wonders in reducing the blood in your coffee stream. I use one all the time! LOL!

I hope that you’re feeling better now Mark. I know the flu ran amok at my work, but I kicked it off fairly quickly thank goodness.

Well, I did get a little work done on the Vampire in the past coup,e of days. Of the few rimes that’s I have used Eduard detail sets, this is the first time that I actually have made the IP. These are a new experience for me. Very nice but a bit of a quandary a short to how to get the instrument film onto the back of the PE panel. I ended up using Micro liquid tape on the back to get it to stick. And that was after I added some white paper onto the back of the Instrument Dials film. Overall I really like the look



and I did detail painting and wash in the cockpit tub



I just need to do some dry brushing in there now, add the seat harness, and I can get it all installed.
