The crew access hatches got new hinges using two PE parts and plastic rod provided by Voyager.


So far they are not glued on. Maybe later. There are two tiny PE parts on the upper edge, thin as human hair...

After the front end I also worked on the rear. This rear wall was a single part, before having been glued to the upper vehicle structure.

See the two square step grids? Those are moveable! Nice!!


Doing these was fun! There are recessed marks showing where to add the four PE parts. I painted some Tamiya Panel line wash in the recesses which later helped in visibility when aligning the four brackets.






There are eight brackets attached here, with more to follow later on the sides. Each is done from two PE parts that had to be glued together, and a piece of 0.75mm wire with a length of about 1mm (0.029 inches and 0.039 inches for you US guys).

Bruce, that´s the "Baby-SS-23", hehe... The SS-23 I am doing is larger, and has 4 axles! Here is a shot from Wikipedia:



UV glue? Yes, well, ya know: we Europeans simply have the magic!

Thanks so much for letting me know! I think the subject is pretty amazing once a bit of research is applied, but it is interesting to see these armor builds, which remind me of a modeling “adage” from somewhere online: “Aircraft modeling is ‘Build, Paint; Build, Paint;” armor modeling is “Build, Build, Build, Build... Paint, Paint, Paint.”

I may have exaggerated the exact number of “Builds” or “Paints.”

Honestly, there is something magical about Germany... but I like our American magic as well. It’s just a bit different here due to the environment.

You are so right, Bruce. Each nation has some kind of magic (and some wonderful sights!). Didn´t want to step on someone´s toes...
I am preparing many, oh so many PE parts to get assembled. No idea if, in the end, things will work as intended by Voyager, but I try.

Thank you all! Yes, my eyes indeed are tired, having worked on the four stabilising grids at the end of the ballistic missile. Still a long way to go, but the complicated interwoven grids are done! Phew...

Finished more (44!) complicated bends on PE parts for the base plate of the missile chamber. Still not decided if I really should struggle to grind the existing detail away to replace it with those 44 parts...
