Re: Dragon X CyberHobby 1/32 Wing Tech Emil ...
I see points to hit amongst the artists you mentioned; it’s a good list. I like “The Reverend” Al Green “Let’s Stay Together” so much—it’s a glimmer of light when the world grows dim for me. I am pretty odd duck about listening to music: I don’t really use music in the background (again not to be contrary at all it’s just how I was raised) which is totally normal; but in my house music stopped all other activities when it was being played; my dad recorded live music as a hobby and built a sanctum sanctorum for playback... I wish I still had his Altecs, but I kept his deck and cartridge and a good deal of his records. So that kind of makes me a halfarse audiophile.... one of my friends said “Go home and put on some Miles Davis,” which I took as an insult. I have Blag Flag and Steve Albini’s Big Black on rotation, and I finally wore out some film scores by Goblin, have been on a varied progressive rock phase for a couple of years with King Crimson and many other British bands on the short list as well.

Leningrad Cowboys Go America was really a very special movie, directed by Aki Kaurismäki --> Kenny, remember the discussions earlier about Jim Jarmusch and his movie "Night on Earth" and connection with the director Mika Kaurismäki. Well, those two are brothers, Mika does more "normal" movies. Aki then again very, how would I say, different but still so good / funny / tragical movies...speedgraflex wrote:“Death in June!” Glad the music is back! Reminds me how I ended up producing my buddy’s bluegrass EP and bonding over the movie “Leningrad Cowboys Go America” and Swedish metal. I missed the whole Tom Tiki Collins cocktail references in the second build thread, but I am happy you are here with Begonia.
I love Akis movie "Calamari Union", I wonder if that movie was ever released in US ? https://mubi.com/films/calamari-union

Bruce, Progressive Rock is an interesting thing. I never explored it too much when I was younger. And it’s funny because these days I have found myself enjoying King Crimson and Rush and bands like that on occasion.
Punk was what grabbed me when I was a young kid, much to my father’s dismay. He likes bands like Pink Floyd. And that’s great stuff, don’t get me wrong. I just kinda gravitated more to The Angry Samoans, Minor Threat, and yes, Black Flag back then. Still do to a large extent.
My wife is a choir teacher. We always have music on. Always.
I never saw the Leningrad Cowboys movie, or the other film you mentioned, Kari. I’ll have to check them both out, because this tangent has gotten me curious...

Looks like a lot of lovely detail in that kit. There are other options to consider for that instrumental panel. For example, you could buy instrument panel decals from Airscale or MDC and apply them individually to each dial face. More work yes, but the results can be quite nice.

Ah yes. I’m glad you mentioned that. I was unaware that AM decals for that IP existed. So if anybody else wants to build this kit, that too is an option.jkim wrote:Looks like a lot of lovely detail in that kit. There are other options to consider for that instrumental panel. For me personally, I like those PE IP’s from Eduard. They look real nice when you flat coat then gloss the individual dials like you suggested. It just totally does it for me.
The plastic that this kit is made from is interesting. It’s sturdy, but also sands absolutely beautifully. It’s real easy to work with in that regard. And it seems to lend its self to molding lovey details into it, indeed.
The manufacturer did a really nice job that way.
