Good morning, John. I am still seeing images when using Safari on the iPhone. Are you able to see images this way as well? I am trying to remain calm, but if Post Image is forcing a migration to yet another iteration of... Post Image... I may jump ship or jump out of the plane or whatever the metaphor is...

Are you sure you're not seeing cached images? I can see them on Safari as well but I haven't cleared my cache yet. I'm not going to panic just yet. I'm not sure if I should temporarily shift to IMGUR or use postimage.cc where all of my photos now reside.

I am not sure of anything, but I do know I see my thread images and not yours, which really does not make me happy. I also checked in at LSP and was unable to see your images there, either...

I'm pretty sure you are only seeing the photos that have been saved to your phone. I can also see Postimage photos on my phone. Both yours and mine.

Time to post an update. Logging into Postimage directs you automatically to the new *.cc site (versus the non-operative *.org). All of my photo albums are there so I'm going to continue to use Postimage for now.

The chin intake was glued into place. Fit here was very good and careful gluing should negate the need for any corrective work. Always nice when that happens.




Eduard provides THREE choices for the late tall-style tail rudder. References state that Hartmann's G-6 probably had the two tabs so it's one of the two on the right. Not knowing any more than that, I simply chose the one that had less excess flash.

I gave the canopy pieces a dip in Future to make them a little clearer.



The armor plate is a clear piece for which Eduard thoughtfully provides a mask.



Here are the clear pieces in position. It looks like there might be an overhand on the windscreen so I'll have to pay further attention to this area.



After gluing in the radiator boxes under the wings, I was able to glue the wings onto the fuselage. There was a bit of a gap at the wing root that was addressed by holding the joint tight while the glue set.



Not a perfect fit here. I'll have to do some clean-up work around the joins but nothing too major. One challenge will be massage the messy glue joint at the wing root and replace it with a panel line.

Feels good to see your photographs online again, John; thank you! I am excited by what is happening! What did you notice about the clear canopy parts in terms of fitting to the fuselage—slightly over size/shape? Some interesting details here (not your subject, it is a G-6, but, still...)



I am super curious about how you will approach the winter camouflage! Will you be doing "camouflage over camouflage?" or do you have some other ideas in mind? What paint will be used for the flat white? Is "white distemper" truly chalk and adhesive?

I was just talking wing roots in Carlos’ Vampire thread. I was reminded of how easily the wing roots fit flush and stayed, with my G2 kit. It took literally no extra effort on my part to get them in there with no major gap. And as I recalled, it wasn’t too bad with the first Eduard kit I did (my Von Werra Emil), but it was a total pain in the ass with the Eduard Emil I’m working on currently! So I had to chuckle. There’ll be variance from kit to kit, and I guess sometimes the stars and planets align just right.

I’m rambling...

Back to point, I think she’s coming together beautifully, my man. You’re doing a great job!

Thanks guys! Bruce... I am planning on doing some sort of camo over camo versus just a dirty white. But I'm thinking that I'll do it a little bit differently than normal. I plan on dialing down the upper camo (RLM 74/75) so that more of my preshading shows through. I'd like to give the upper white some tonal variation. I've even been thinking about how to wear the white through to the camo in areas. Hairspray? Micromesh?

Kenny... I was surprised that I didn't get a good fit at the wing root. My recollection of the Eduard E-4 build was that the wing root fit was very good.

Oh... I went ahead and "fixed" all of the photo references in this thread so all of the pictures should show up now. I just cut/paste between the post editor and Notepad so that I could take advantage of Notepad's Find/Replace feature. Find and replace all *.org with *.cc and the photos become visible again. I don't have the time to do this on all of my other threads and I am particularly sad about my Black One opus being pictureless.
