I like this Gustav. It reminds me of an Olde English Bulldogge that me and my ex-wife fostered once.

I’m a pit bull man, myself. But I liked that bulldogge. She was like what Vin Diesel would be like if he was a ferocious bitch. 68 pounds of fearless muscle. Her name was Lolo. She was a puppy mill breeder, living her life in a cage, her only purpose to have puppies. A rescue group acquired her and we took her from them not long after my ex-wife’s pit bull Remington lost her battle with cancer. After several months of coming home and finding my ex watching TV with Remington’s urn in her lap, I decided she needed another dog. Lolo was what we got...

She was a good dog. Fearless. She HATED EVERYBODY but me LOL. Talk about a total backfire. I wanted a new dog for my now ex-wife, and for my sins we got Lolo, a dog who loved me and hated everybody else.

That’s what this model aircraft reminds me of.

Lolo met a rough end. I took her to the vet to have her fixed. Lolo put a vet tech in the hospital. i surrendered her back to the rescue group, and they put her in a no-kill dog rehab facility.

They never dig manage to rehabilitate her.

Sometimes I wonder if I build models to work out psychological issues I’m carrying around...

I know people use “interesting” as a shield when they are out of their depth basically but friend I grew up on a farm so what you wrote hit home really hard like I want to stop all forced breeding and animal captivity going on, and reminds me of my last mercifully brief visit home when my Aunt had the bright idea that a local livestock show might be some kind of fun evening and I went to be polite and sat and gritted my teeth as a local woman brought in an enormous box of beautiful rabbits destined for slaughter. My heart breaks and my eyes fill at the thought of innocents being led without choosing to meet their end and I will pray for Lolo and all those who suffer for consumer causes.

My short answer to your post: Aren’t we all? We are working out issues, childhood ones mainly, and be this my own perspective entirely yes it is but my working theory is the sensitives always pay a greater price, and that is why we have hobbies, to repair and rebuild armor — metaphors here — bashed and dented by daily experience.

Bruce, this is just me, my man, and I’m validating your feelings on this. I really am. I love animals, and I get where you’re coming from. Completely.

Is the G-2 fighting back a little Kenny? Putty clean-up can be very meticulous at this scale. If you haven't gotten any yet, I highly recommend magnification. Along with the airbrush, one of the most important "tools" that I own when it comes to modeling. Many options available. I have this one...

I would definitely check out John’s suggestion, KennyX. I went in another direction here:

And I have been looking for this (or at least this type)... but no idea of the quality, how bad distortions the lens has etc...

That looks cool, Kari. I like the little one I have but a base mount would be an improvement. One reason I have trouble with modeling is not having a table that is a steady platform...

Yes sir, it is fighting back just a bit! I do have an optivisor, but not a real nice one like the one you recommended. It works okay, but I’ve been in the market for a new one. I’m still dealing with that step there on top of the cowl. I’ll get it, just takes a little time.

I’ve been in the market for something like this, too, to help with my fly tying; along with a better optivisor like Bruce suggested. I’ll probably get me one of these, too.

I redid the landing flaps and radiator flaps this afternoon. I was inspecting the aircraft and noted that they sure weren’t on there the way I’d test-fit them. The instructions seem to indicate that they all go downward at relatively the same angle, and mine weren’t doing that.

So I ripped them out, and redid them.
