1/48 Emil Do-Over

Sometimes its better to move on rather than to obsess over a certain detail. I tend to do the obsess thing myself. The mottling looks really good, Kenny. Luftwaffe mottling looks easy but is notoriously difficult to get a realistic looking result.

Especially as your scale subject gets smaller... 1/32, lots of room to work with... 1/48, staring to get tight on smaller fighters... 1/72, are you crazy?

I gave it a full 24 hours. Made a list of Pro’s and Con’s, talked to my wife about it. Performed some tests. And in the end, I fixed the demarcation :-) And I am very happy with the results. I got both sides as close to the references in the instructions, as well as the photos you guys provided me with, as I could. It was a challenge, and I did it!

Also did the wings, this morning, and that was very easy.

I am 100% happy with this paint job.

Good job. Proud of you. It takes stones to adjust camo.

I don’t know how you are with adjustments but I would make the demarcation the edge of the canopy based on your photo placed side by side with reference.... the line which extends on either side seems too sharp edged. Also, this may mean that the other side would need to be adjusted.

However please, please take this as a note, based on what I am seeing and you may see this quite differently and ultimately mate this is how you see the subject.
