I bet your inventory of spares is pretty darn amazing! I picture a cave filled with gold and jewels or in this case brass photo etch, plastic sprues and resin!

LOL! Not that much PE & resin, but LOTS of plastic... extra parts from kits and stuff stripped from old scrapped builds... then of course the raw materials- wire, sheet, strip and rod styrene, foil, mesh, etc...

Nice photo etch bits that you've added there, Carlos! I really hate those tiny pieces that require folding, especially when the fold is held together by a tiny strand of metal... which usually breaks on me!

More solid work on this fascinating subject. I love it.
In my still somewhat limited experience with PE parts you have to fold and bend, I can still appreciate what we put into using them to enhance the build. It takes concentration and effort, in spades. And it’s cool you’ve made those additions.

Thanks guys!
John, I know exactly what you mean! I’ve had some of those folds break on a few occasions... and trying to fix that beak afterwards has given me fits at times. One of these days I’m gonna try dusting off my long forgotten soldering skill (and I use that term extremely loosely in this case) for PE work. We have a guy in our AMPS Chapter who does INSANE work with PE brass and solder... part jeweler and part micro electronics tech.
Kenny, thankfully this was a simple part to bend. And now the gunsight looks tons better for just a little effort. I was just going to go with a simple piece of clear acetate, but then I remembered the generic RAF WWII detail set and... it may not be 100% accurate, but it looks much better now.

If you dabble with the soldering iron, please share with us Carlos! That seems to offer a much more solid connection for these metal parts than CA glue, which can be frustrating to work with at times.

I certainly will John. I agree 100% and then some about solder providing a much more solid collection.

No this thread loads normally. There are a handful that load very slowly for some reason.
