The proof is in the pictures... I was wondering if you ever take the plane off the platform. Personally I would... is that because of the dropping issues?

Nosir, and that is precisely because of the “Dropping The Model Airplane” issue, yes. I actually spoke to my Psychotherapist about that, too LOL. Maybe it’s “Self-Sabotage”. Who really knows. But man, I’d repaird the landing gear on my Von Werra Emil. Got the project back on track and then dropped it again the next day. That stung, especially considering how I dropped the first Emil I built coming back to the hobby, too. So here again- my OCD. Until this bad-boy has landing gear installed and is resting safely on my shelf, on the jig it will stay. And no picking it up unnecessarily.

What I like so much about the 109, and the E3/E4 in particular, is hot fast it looks. It’s a hot rod with wings. Small airframe, big-ass engine, this design just totally does it for me.

On to the *very light* weathering I suppose. Just some light exhaust stains, and addressing the landing gear.

Looks amazing, KennyX. Are those fruits or vegetables in the bowl next to the liquor cabinet? Wait, am I still hungry? Okay, yes. I am. I agree with you about the weathering choice to keep things light. I actually feel you might could let the project and the decals cure for a few hours before you begin to add any effects. What will you be using to do this?

Bruce, we got a cantaloupe over there, a couple of tomatoes, some red skin potatoes, apples. There’s an onion or two in that bowl as well, I believe.

Okay, so about the weathering.

A few weeks ago I picked up some dark brown and black Tamiya panel line wash, thinking I could use it for not just washing panel lines, but all kinds of other stuff too. Well, here’s the problem... in my tests I have found that Tamiya panel line wash adheres to acryl really, really well. Even if there’s a thick, smooth gloss coat (Tamiya Clear). So that’s out.

That said, I do like how my pastel dust behaves.

So I’ll be using my pastel dust. I’m planning on the following:

1. Black wash in the shell ejection ports, and on the recesses in the cowling where the guns are.

2. Wash on the landing gear.

3. Light panel line wash on *select areas* around the cowl.

4. Light exhaust stains with pastel dust.

I think that’ll be okay, long as I don’t go bananas and overdo it.
