I will be thrilled to "hear" your opinion regarding the Barracuda seat. I have been thinking perhaps to order one also, but probably the version with belts on

If we are now talking about same batch of Barracuda seats (product number BCR32163 ?)

Check out the LSP build thread I reference above in response to John. I have not checked all the sprues yet of the Revell. Apologies. When my resin comes I will show you the comparison if you want to see it. From looking at Jan_G’s build it seems there is need for PE from Eduard to detail and a new resin prop. Everything else can be kept stock.

Oh... wait. You are modifying from old to new type Mustang!

Scratch the above and feed the Barracuda!

It will be worth it.

This started as a pencil sketch that went so far south I was tempted to throw it away; luckily this was on board so I managed to save it somewhat with some gouache paint. The main point was finding a decent blue, which in this case was Cerrulean Blue...

Thank you for the link! You parachuted me into the very thick of what I am wrestling with—how much needs to be seen behind the seat besides the radio and battery?

Quang did a beautiful job with all of the details, and a very interesting approach. His statement at the beginning about how the design made him feel was also very important—I wonder if his feelings towards the design changed in any way during the course of the build.

REVELL 1/32 COCKPIT FLOOR AND FUEL TANK

Presenting the wing root gap... after much steaming of plastic... which is good!! Unfortunately there is still the central fuselage gap which will probably be filled with a slice of card? Any ideas?

If you could pick a spot to have a gap, between the fuselage would be where I would want it. Yes, you can shim a piece of plastic card to bridge that gap.
