These Are Strange Days For You, Me, And Germany

Post by KennyX »

I will be displaying my completed Luftwaffe Builds here in this thread.

Here is the first aircraft to successfully leave my work bench. This is the first in a series of two Emils I’m building, which were piloted by Adolf Galland. This is his Battle of Britain aircraft. The next will be his Battle of France aircraft.

This is a great day for you Kenny!

you have build a very very nice example of the Emil, historically accurate!

What makes this build extra special, is that we, the big audience have been able to follow this so closely!
Many updates, good close-up pictures, a very good "storyline" and an excellent finish !

"Seasoned by music" :-)

Therefore, on the behalf also of the silent audience ( those who read and watches our posts in silence and I am sure they are many ):
Well done Kenny !!

:shoutout:

We would appreciate more 109's and therefore looking forward to the next one! :-)

Congratulations! Friends are few and far between but I am glad we met here at SPAM. Your aircraft looks ready for service. What a stellar job you did with building this.

I’m still a bit overwhelmed by the kindness and support given me by you guys since I joined up. But in a good way, of course.

Kari,

Thank you sir. I appreciate the kind words, and all the feedback you’ve given me. I really admire your work, being able to talk to you about pertinent things helps me, and reading your build logs on this website helped me and inspired me quite a lot. And the movie recommendations are ALWAYS appreciated too :-D its great knowing you.

Bruce,

My man. So glad I met you here, too. And thank you. I would not have been able to learn as quickly as I did had it not been for watching you work, along with the other fellas here. Your work inspires me, too. And I appreciate your candor and hearing your thoughts on things. It’s refreshig to have a friend who can fall down rabbit holes with me.

The modelers on this website have set the bar pretty-damned high, but they’re also so supportive to new people like me, and so generous in terms of lending helpful advice and information. I hope my build logs help other new folks out who might’ve had the same questions and issues I did. And I’ll for sure keep logging Builds here.

What a good lookin' crate Kenny! I've got a special place in my heart for the 109 family and this one's definitely one for the books man. Great paint, weathering and details.

Thank you so much!! The 109E is my favorite aircraft and I’m glad I could do old Emil some justice on this build.

I'm sure Mr. Galland would be pleased by this rendition of one of his kites. You have an eye for the priorities in modeling and it shows.
You're good and on your way for getting great at it!

Excellent finish! Great attention to detail, right down to the antenna.

Mostrich- Thank you! The more I read his autobiography, the more I admire the man. Yes, he shot down a lot of our allies, but underneath that, he had a very deep humanity, and he was a courageous, honorable man. He told it to Göring like it is a few times, and that takes balls. And as I was building this and reading about it, I had that thought “Man. I hope Galland would like what I’m doing with this.” Thank you for validating that. I enjoyed this build very much.
