Let us know more about that carving tape! I've been using Dymo labeling tape as a scribing guide. It works well but the adhesive is super sticky but loses its adhesive really quickly... almost one and done. Clear tape would provide alignment benefits too.

Of course. I will review this. It seems to me this has very similar properties and difficulties associated with Dymo. In fact this could be clear Dymo... but the clear was the deciding factor for me. As you wrote, this is extremely useful.

I am still practicing with Mr Hobby’s Creos scribing tool and I am deciding what drill bit size will duplicate the fasteners (shallow drilled opening) besides what Wauchop described as a punch type tool he used from MDC.

If you need to make circular rivets like I did on the leading edge of this 190D-9 wing...


I would recommend getting a set of jeweler's beading or setting tools...


Should be able to find a set on Ebay for $15 or less.

I understand, believe me. My buddy calls them his “thinking sticks,” and I have been known to take the gift of the pipe my buddy Casey gave me a year back and fire it up privately. The photo your wife took of you valiantly playing (Well, I think perhaps graciously losing at cards) reminded me strongly of my Ambrosia tobacco and a short pipe fired in a back yard amongst friends.

I was chatting with Torben who has a colorful online name vis a vis messenger and he mentioned watching “Altered Carbon.” That was a good show after a rocky start... or cheesy start. Sometimes a little cheese is good, though, at the start. Isn’t that basically an appetizer?

Earlier I was reading about U-Boats in Argentina! And I took a tough as nails “How well do you know the Mustang P-51D?” Online Test. The test was ten questions long and not to be trifled with! 8/10 for me, but they asked for statistics and I never knew how many test flights the prototype flew! I thought it crashed and was fixed so I guessed the lowest number choice but I was wrong, I did know the per unit cost was $50K per plane, though! The other question I missed was why do they paint a white cross on the nose? 1) kill marks 2) fuel tank added (correct answer I will spare you) and 3) as a ground crew “OK to fly.” I thought it was the third answer.

I gave up the thinking sticks (that’s awesome by the way) in 2008, in favor of Swedish snus. But I never put down my briar pipe, and I won’t either. I flatly refuse. Matter of fact, I’ve got a Peterson rusticated Sherlock Holmes that I plan on being buried with.

And yes sir, I was graciously losing at cards when Mrs. Kenny X took that photo. I get ahead for a little while but she always comes back and kicks my ass. She’s like that with Scrabble too. But I always win when we play Exploding Kittens. So it kind of evens out.

As to the Mustang Quiz, that’s your plane bro. Like the ME109 E4 is my plane. Every man has to find his plane. And boy oh boy did you find a badass plane. I’m not surprised you scored so high. The two ones you missed don’t really matter.
