A great movie... done long before CGI with real aircraft and large scale flying models.

Is this a still frame from Battle of Britain, 1969? I did like the big RC Stuka in Dunkirk. I remember Torben was fired up after seeing Dunkirk to build a Spitfire and I kept thinking of that Stuka... Hmm.

Bruce, those are rad! And the pics remind me of me and my dad back in the day. Boy oh boy we had a whole lot of spectacular RC airplane crashes LAAAAWLS!

Likewise; my memories are similar—building a Sopwith Camel stick and tissue model was my very first aircraft model ever. We lost it deep in the woods, too. Surprisingly I was less traumitized by this event than expected.

And yes, the “Stuka” is a BIG bird indeed!
The engine work is brilliant!
Pretty much the same as the real one I saw on display in the museum I visited...

Kari! My man! Thank you!! And thank you for sharing that photo! I’ve never seen the genuine article before, and t’s pretty amazing looking. I can’t wait to see the other photos you took at the museum, too.

Good afternoon folks! Got an update on the Stuka here. I started Step #3 this afternoon:
Boy this is really a nice-looking cockpit and gunner’s workstation. Big, too. I spent a half hour after working on the Corsair, assembling it. This comprises about 90% of Step #3. Those ammo magazines and the read bulkhead will be assembled, primed, and painted separately and then installed.
You know I prefer an “assemble most of the cockpit module before painting it” method and it’ll definitely work out, here. It’s so big that I won’t feel chlostrophobic at all while working in there with my airbrush. I’ll get it all primed when I prime my Corsair’s cockpit components.
Once again, everything went smoothly. Only one minor hitch. The little nun on the bottom of the stick was backwards, which meant that the stick would be installed backward. I sanded it off and glued it on there flat. No problem.
