That looks like a nicely detailed cockpit Kenny. I can’t wait to see what you do with some paint in there. Nice fix on the control column. I think that is one thing that irks me on Trumpeter kits. They consistently makes goofs like that. And as much as some of those kits cost, that borders on inexcusable. Their quality control needs to tighten things up.

I’ll tell ya my man. When I test fit that piece I looked at it and said to myself “Now I’ve mounted a stick backwards enough time to know just by looking at it that that sticks backwards!”

I had a good laugh. Then I remembered there’s over 300 parts to this kit. Then it kind of set in. “I wonder what else could be fucky, with these parts.”

We’ll see.

And I agree. Silly things like that should be caught early and corrected. Let’s hope there won’t be any other silly things like that.

Nice looking pit! Something nice and pure about an all-plastic cockpit. I like resin but I'd be ecstatic if they could mold styrene with the same level of detail as resin.

John, I’m with you on that. I really enjoy taking an evening just to look at a pristine cockpit before I prime it. Resin is nice, those resin parts for my Super Emil are out of this world, but it’s not the same. But the detail, oh man...

What we gotta do see, is come up with our own proprietary plastic! That’s the ticket!

Dragons DS styrene gives that crispness of detail like resin. But I worry about it’s longevity. I have some tracks for a Panther in DS, but they have started to break apart on their own.

Well that’s no bueno! I’d have expected more from a big company like Dragon. Then again, they did bork the wing tabs on their Emil... but that cockpit. Holy cow. It’s that nice.

Dragon can be hit and miss. For some items, the DS plastic is great. But I think on tracks, it gets pretty thin and I suspect that may contribute to fragility with age. The DS figure heads and other items that I have are all good so far.

I spent some quality time with the Stuka -new code name: “BIG BIRD”- this afternoon during my lunch break. Boy oh boy can this mode eat some Mr. Surfacer. Holy cow! I’m really, really glad I ordered more. More Mr. Leveling Thinner, too.

I dropped it LOL. The seat popped off, as well as the PE fiddly bit by the Gunner’s seat. No problem. CA glue to the rescue.

I don’t worry about dropping things so much anymore.

Yeah bro. This aircraft is going to be huge. Bigger than I thought at first. And it’s an ambitious project, at least for me. But I’m having a lot of fun with it. I’ll probablu start painting the sidewalls tonight.

Well if you paint that up as well as the Corsair it's going to look Awesome!

When I get the resin cockpit for my 1/24 Harrier GR.3 I'll post some pictures of that - it should be HUGE also!
