She’s looking more and more sexy with every stroke of that brush. Holy cow! I’m really enjoying watching this build come together, and like you, I’m loving that green. Put that green on with that gray, oh mama! Great stuff!! I’m happy to see this update.

Thanks Kenny!
Once I've sort the canopy out it'll be onto the yellow leading edges and the detail painting. I might try and source some AM decals for this one as I'm not very keen on the kit markings. D-day stripes would have been nice.
I also need to add see details to the u/c bay and paint them silver.
Cheers!

You know, the more I think about it the more I just don’t want to do the scheme that came with the kit. I just really don’t like the checked ID band and the blue nose!
The trouble is that 1/48 AM decal sets are a pain to find for the later mark bubble canopy versions with the four bladed prop.
I think I’m going to just change the scheme and base it on a D-Day bird in my reference book, or certainly just after D-day without the full wrap-around stripes – that’ll jazz up the undersides a bit.
I’ll use the kit roundels and tail-flashes, and hopefully source some new codes – if not it’ll just have to be the kit codes and it’ll then potentially be a ‘what-if’ – but I can live with that (I won't tell anyone if you don't!)
Cheers!

Re: Portman Productions Inc.
So I've got the gaps around the canopy sealed.

And I've also been looking at my Typhoon reference book for inspiration on schemes. This is the book.

And this is the only option in the kit - I don't know why but it just doesn't do anything for me.

Here's what I'm thinking. I've ordered some generic 1/48 24" and 8" RAF code letters so I can do the markings.

Cheers!

Damn canopies. I hate working with canopies. You did a good job on that canopy. And I’d like to just take a minute and give you a shout-out for going that extra mile and sealing that gap. I wish I’d done that on my last Emil.
Anyway, good show, as they say! And I like the marking scheme you’ve picked too. Man, this is going to be sweet!

I hear ya Stuart. I built the same issue of the kit and felt the same way. I have a Supescale decal set that I ended up using the markings from an RCAF squadron from the timeframe of Operation Varsity for my build. Aren’t the kit markings for an immediate post war timeframe scheme anyways?

Stuart—are you gonna paint the invasion stripes by hand! That would be badass!
Make more models!
