For a multi layer chipping effect, I suggest you have a look at jkim’s FW-190D build thread. He did some similar work there on that build.
Excellent points, Carlos! I have much to learn and I am inspired by all of these steps by KennyX. And yes, two words for chipping: John Kim.

Mrs. Kenny X let me sleep-in this morning! God bless that woman. I have to work today- doing some off-hours quarterly data collection, and after I signed-in and kicked-off the program I wrote which gathers the data, I treated the wheel wells to a lovely, luxurious coat of Mr. Color Flat Clear. I’m thinking I’ll be a monkey’s uncle if any of that Yellow-Green comes off during the forthcoming chipping. We’ll see. I’m gonna give it plenty of time to set up. I’ll probably wait and handle the hairspray, insignia white, and chipping tomorrow.

So far, so good, still Yellow.

I’m reading it now. It’s a great thread. Very enlightening.

Paint chipping in wheel wells is done. I am much happier with this result.

Also- wings are attached. Well, the wing roots anyway:

Very nice! Now you have to display this on a mirror base once it’s all done to show off the work in the wheel wells...

My wife suggested I hang it up in my Tiki Bar, like it’s coming in for an awkward landing. I’m considering both options LOL

I like the Tiki Bar idea... it keeps in line with the South Pacific theme... :hmm:

I do too, Bruce! And it’s pretty doable, I think. I’ll log my ideas for the plan in here, too.
