WORKBENCH WEDNESDAY

I read Stuart’s blog and he posted about “What’s on your bench this Wednesday?” I was reading this a moment ago and decided to add what is happening here today... what a photo... a Bodney Blue Nosed gone to earth.

Image

I truly hope the pilot walked away unharmed.

As far as my week goes, I took a week to worry about my career and the rent; “practical matters” perhaps? Through a second chance offer on eBay I have a model car project in the works, and perhaps tonight I will clip the enormous amount of kit parts from the armor build off the sprues and prep these for black primer (methinks black primer then mask to spray olive drab on the interior surfaces might work)...

Some paint arrived and I made two hurried test patches. Carlos, you’re right. There seems to be only a small value change between these. This is a bit more noticeable now as the pieces cure.

Image

I think I may might perhaps also take these images into Photoshop and try spraying the nose with each color... just could be interesting.

:hmm:

The brighter one on the right... on the top photo... on the left on the bottom photo...

I was thinking the character blue was the better color. Still, until the paint is on the model; there's no telling.

Looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks, Duke! I am still not positive. I apologize for those hastily prepared samples; I was thinking to spray the lighter shade on one half of the fuselage, once the fuse is scribed and silvered... then try adding the darker shade called Character Blue.

I'm impressed with your quest for accuracy Bruce! No comment from me - my eyes are so bad I'd probably confuse it with pink!

Take your time Bruce. What's important is that you are satisfied. Do whatever you have to do to achieve that.
