That's cool Stik - what's the difference between the 222 and 223?

Sorry I missed this one Stuart. The 222 has a two man turret with a 20mm cannon and a coax machine gun, same armament as a Panzer II, and has a standard short range radio. The 223 has a single man turret with a single machine gun armament and a long range radio and frame antenna.
And now I must confess that since I have been doing research for my 222 build, the DAK bug has bitten me again and I’m looking at all the DAK kits in my stash... and jonesing for more DAK vehicle crew figures...

Well in any case I do have a Mk.IV D that is maybe 2/3 complete that I need to finish up.... and then I’ll be satisfying my urge while still working at my goal of reducing my shelf queens roster...

Oh, if only I had the time available to provide a proper ride instead of a slow crawl...

Time... never enough of it. I don’t mind the long crawl... I have 50 pages on a single build... that is a glacial pace. What counts will be seeing the moments where you figure out how to finesse an older kit usually... I like the fact that you always surprise with ideas; this has encouraged me to tackle more extreme mods the way you do... I’m still unsure about building tracks but I think that’s the way too.

Tracks... there is a learning curve. Sub assemblies are a good idea. As is using a slow setting glue in styrene link by link tracks. You do not need that as much with link and length tracks. And a jig to keep the sub assemblies straight is a good idea as well. There are so many types of tracks out there now that one method does not apply to all types.

i read in the Perth Military review that these tracks snap together well. I still have so much to learn. I think I may try the rubberized stinky vinyl ones first just to see... I dunno I cleaned my kitchen table off, put sharp blades in all knives... found both bottles of Mr Cement... but I need toothpicks... for the wheels...

Why are the periscopes painted light blue?

Light blue is what they recommend? Ummmmm... No.

Perhaps a medium blue base, but then a top coat of clear green is my favorite way to represent the armored glass. But light blue is too light.

For toothpicks, just grab several each time you go to your local restaurants... they are getting rid of them anyways... all those ones that get dropped and not used... what’s a few more?

As far as the rubber band tracks go, those gluable type tend to “dry out” and break in my experience. Maybe it’s the paint, maybe it’s the climate here, but theory don’t last like the older vinyl type.
