A chrome dash? Interesting... :hmm:

I know, right? There are a lot of chrome sprues here... Are you interested in sprue shots? It’s all so retro. It’s so Sixties.

Re the dash—I’ll probably strip it and do a few upgrades. The doors and engine compartment are hinged!!

Some progress on the fenders:

Thanks Bruce for the pics of the dash board!

Indeed, very special decision Bandai made, to make it in chrome. Trying to think why, as there is definitely a reason... But what... :hmm:

I would nevertheless do the same, strip the chrome off... BUT... knowing Bruce your extraordinary capacity in detailing, artistic hand & eye and having the needed patience (+ highly probably also the equipment needed; software + a printer ): Self made custom decals !!

What do you think ?

Your idea is great! Particularly because the donor kit—the AMT 1/16 Cobra—has no dashboard decals either, or at least appears to have a decal sheet with no dials on it. Viewing an open box builder kit on eBay now, I do not see water slide dials.

Thank you so much for your response! I need to get a few storage bins for these small parts. Actually I need a big bin for the whole kit. The other thing I was thinking I should do is cut the long sprues down to smaller sizes for dipping in a bleach solution. I also need to test bleach again to make sure this will take off the chrome, as the chrome seems well done and may resist the bleaching process.

I think once I finish the shoulders I may prime and build the front section of the car first, take it all the way to color coat, to make sure I have a good process to build the kit.

Man...……..I'd have to go with a semi gloss black to break up the color pattern some, but I'd also see what research would turn up on it.
