Thank you sir!

While the clear coat dries, I set about working underneath. Check it out:

I’m going to be working all night tonight so I figured I’d try and make as much progress as I could today.

That hole is to be filled, according to the instructions. I just haven’t gotten around to it yet.
No worries, just checking. The build is looking really good.

Wow! Also, thanks for your candor! It’s refreshing. I feel the same way, I have of lot of primer layers on whatever I do and that leads to some hard work keeping the edges clean, adjusting values and on top of that preparing for color coats... so yeah, hell yeah! Looks fierce, man!

AAAAAND back to Square 1.

I was u happy with the way the NAVY blue came out, and I didn’t like the larger chunks of chipped paint.

Will try again, here soon.

HAHAHAAA!!

It was a solid first attempt. 100% SOLID. But I can do it better. So I’m gonna try again. I kinda rushed through it before I totally got my head around the chipping process.

LOL I gotta tell ya. I kind of wish I’d waited until tomorrow to proceed with the Step 2- the black and then the blue and the. The final chipping. Man oh man.

Here’s what I learned: with chipping, LESS IS PROBABLY MORE (unless you’re building a Zero).

On second thought, I think I am going to put this one aside for a little while. This was a hugely ambitious project and my brain feels like mush from everything I’ve learned whilst building it.

In weathering, a good rule of thumb is- when you ask yourself ‘should I do more?’, it’s time to stop.
