Bruce, a book you need to find and acquire is Bluenoser Tales by Robert “Punchy” Powell. This book tells the stories and interviews of pilots and airmen of the famed Blue-Nosed Bastards of Bodney of the 352nd Fighter group of WW2. The book is filled with useful information, stories, history and photos not found anywhere.

I’ve been looking for this book for a couple years now and I was extremely lucky to score one on eBay last year.

Look in eBay or do a simple search online typing Bluenoser Tales and you’ll see why it’s so hard to find.

Thank you so much, Black Sheep! Congratulations to you for finding a copy for $80! I am seeing copies on Amazon ranging from $400 to $900 at the moment.

I will keep a search running on eBay in the hope that a copy will turn up for sale one day, as I truly understand from your review that this is an extraordinary book.

Mid August is great for me, as long as it's not on the second Saturday of August. Maybe we can do it on Friday before the IPMS meeting and then caravan over to attend it. Hmmmm, the possibilities!

Friday’s and Saturday’s are our in mid August for me. My days off should rotate back to Sunday Monday Tuesday off... I’ll keep those for three months before it’s time to have Thursday Friday Saturday off again in November...

We will work out the when... I was thinking that it was best to make a movie night about the movie and only about the movie. I think this movie packs an emotional wallop, at least from what I am able to tell from the storyline and clips. I plan to order the book from my local library tomorrow or Tuesday.

Tonight I ordered the decals—a very beautiful set from Eaglecals entitled "The P-51s of Major George Preddy."

A 24 page booklet of all known photos of the George Preddy Mustangs, compiled and written by Mark Proulx with Sam Sox, Jr. the official 352nd Fighter Group historian. Included are several unpublished photos and some color shots captured from a DVD.

• Twenty four full color pages
  Seven highly accurate color profiles from leading profile illustrator Tom Tullis
  Complete left and right side profiles supported by unpublished photos of his P-51B
  Detailed description of the evolution to the markings of Cripes A’Mighty 3rd with profiles

Hullo and thank you so much for your words tonight, Carlos! I somewhat reluctantly boxed the GT40mkII and put that away, then I brought out the Hasegawa 1/32 Mustang P-51D and added the bagged decals to the box. Amazing how large the box is—I have the kit components, all of the A.M. bits n' bobs, instructions and now decals safely nestled in one place.

Two notes—first is upon seeing the decals the red "banner" behind Preddy's name may be best to pull off as a stencil depending on how well I am able to color match (or if my choice of red is a color match) the tail to the banner. Second is—there are swatches of blue inside the book for color matching the nose, but I am going to stick with my choices for now.

I’m sure that which ever way you choose to go with this for colors, it will turn out well Bruce. Research, decide, plan, execute.
