I am trying to figure out how to build the base... I think this ship would look good suspended above its landing pad. At least, the model is built. Honestly, the model stands on its own but methinks if it was a few inches off the landing pad it would be... cool.

As an aside... I'm not sure I'm too impressed with those sprue shots of the B-25. I know nothing of that kit but from those photos, the cockpit details looks soft to me. And the panel lines on the fuse... a little heavy?

Pretty standard for Airfix these days & very much like the other its of theirs that I have in the stash - I suspect the sprues look better in the flesh than they do in the photos.

I'm going to have to get one now to see what it's like...

That is cool. Have you thought about getting some small earth magnets and seeing if you could add them to the bottom of the landing gear; then add more around the base to make it 'hover'? Someone did that with the Millennium Falcon at the Nationals. It's possible.

Hi Bruce - those look good.

I haven't looked at the Hasegawa kit as such as I'm not really that much into the B-25, but that tends to be the way it goes for me. Generally it's the kit itself that's the driver for me to build rather than the subject...

...unless of course I'm into the subject

If I build the Airfix B-25 kit - it'll to see what the kit's like rather than wanting a Mitchell on shelf.

I really stopped to think about what you wrote, Stuart. I have had a horrible horrible horrible weekend, so having something good to think about was a refreshing moment in between a broken drain/flooded apartment/broken keyboard and I think I cracked a tooth or a filling popped out but my tooth hurts buddy so very intriguing method of choosing projects on your end, which gave me much to think about. I am pretty sure I am probably the more common "choose the subject first," however, but-but-but I do have a fondness for oddball kits in much the same manner as my father had a fondness for oddball cars and trucks, so I could see myself being seduced by plastic... especially sexy Zoukei-Mura sprues! Thankfully ZM will be releasing the Horten in 1/72 and 1/144! So, I expect to see a few builds happen here!

I need to reconnect with this project in a big way.... hello!

Bruce, I'm sorry to hear all this misfortune has happened to you. I know the feeling as indicated in my Maddog Manufacturing Thread. I wish there was something I could do to help.

Stuart did bring up some excellent points and I also follow his line of reasoning when choosing my kits. However, I also like the oddballs and eclectic kits as well. That's why I sometimes 'go off the rails' with some unique and different builds.
