Well Bruce,

 

there are no news on the beautiful XF-11. All my projects stopped for almost half a year for several reasons. Family stuff, the broken and to be replaced heater, water damage. Some guys dried the wet room, tiler renewed the floor and I finished the walls. The main issue which avoids me from making big progress and concentrating on scale modeling was, that I canceled my working contract end of August without having a new job. Ok I got a new one at beginning of September, but I still had to work for the old company for three more month. I was forced to buy the company car I had. All that didn’t put me in the mood for modeling. Then, two weeks ago, a school friend of us died at the age of 41. She suffered several years of cancer and finally lost the fight.

Too many demotivating things to sit happy at the workbench and do plastic planes.

 

Now the Ouragan is finished, I will go on with my Convair (Messerschmitt) X-Plane and started some new projects:

Hobby Boss CF-188, Academy SR-71 and a very old Spitfire Mk. I by Airfix which is supposed to be finished until 31th of December to be part of a RAF competition at Flugzeugforum.

Marius, my condolences as well as sympathies to you for all you have been through. With these difficulties, spending time at the work bench would be something you would most likely avoid as you did. I am glad your home is dried out, and you have fixed the problems with the heater. Ditto work. This I understand so well, as I am freelance, with contracts limited sometimes to just a few days of work. Reading between the lines a bit, it seems your last job wasn't a very good environment for you at the end and I am sorry to learn this.

I read through the list of projects and I am curious to see how you approach them. The Convair is already going strong as far as I recall. When I checked back through several pages of your "Stuff," I was unable to see some photos. I think this may be an issue with my cellular service/Safari/iPhone, but I mention this because I would want to have this reference preserved! This is a wonderful build document.

Also, a postscript about your recent loss. That is truly a tragedy and I am so sorry that you had to lose a good friend.
