Ok, the post script on this build... I added the antenna wire made from E Z line, and whipped up a simple base....

Nice! I never seen the antennas go from wingtips to tail when most WW2 era usually are from canopy to tail. Well done, Carlos!!

Thanks Tom. Yes, the single wire configuration is more commonly seen on most fighters. P-40s used both types of set ups. If you build a P-40, check photo references to see what type was used on the one you’re building.
On the commo side, each of those antenna configurations gives a different signal “footprint” so to speak.

Thank you CL. Desert camouflaged aircraft have very attractive color schemes.
What aircraft did you build with the V antenna? I know that some RAF types had IFF antenna wires that went from the fuselage to the horizontal stabilizers in a similar configuration.
