The form may look a little small, but I assure you once the gizmos are added to the sides and the fan belts are slapped onto the front, that will look the business.

Yessir, plumbing and belts and flywheels Johnson rods take up a lot of space under the old hood. Once you get all that stuff on there that engine -which already looks great- will indeed look the business.

I also like your latest sketches. I like seeing the evolution of this idea put down on paper and constantly refined and improved. This is a fun one to watch.

I woke up from a really good dream which will make a great short story basis, on top of a successful evening building a manifold, furthered by your comments which bring me well, you bring me the “gold” in your encouragement, so thanks very much. I fitted the firewall, and I see, as Carlos pointed out, what will mean fitting parts into the top half which is very contrary to instructions but “Pfffft” one might say to Dragon’s instructions at this point.

I found some excellent photos of the Maybach HL 42 from a “250” found in a scrap yard. Ditto the underside which looks really to me as though once it was in primer that was how it stayed and the sandgelb in this case late war version was sprayed only on what was above, so the vehicle was not jacked up on stands for painting always, what would be the point....



Also the original engine! Finally a side view! Front of vehicle—Left side of photo! Also, also! The shaft is the steering wheel column and! And! Finally I see the Left motor mount which rises vertically next to the steering wheel column. Looks like motor mounts are Left and Right vertical posts.

Wow; revelation! The engine is too small. Drat. I was looking at the firewall this morning and realized that I have to locate the engine against the firewall: Learning. All good. Also, Dragon does provide the transmission because this passes through the firewall into the interior compartment itself, so I will essentially use that part to scale the engine....

The research and effort you’re putting into this is amazing and inspiring.

I am sorry to hear about the motor being a shade too small though. But I believe you have that part under control and will recover. And it looks like you struck a bit of gold with those photos too, which is awesome. I guess that’s lretty much everything you need in order to replicate it how you want to, to cheers to that definitely. And it’s going to look so cool in your model once you get it all together. Super realism. And I’m glad you looked and checked things out again, too. You’re like me in a lot of ways, not the least of which is if you’d found out about that later it would have really bugged you. So hey, this is very good progress.

Evening, all. Ken, sincerely, thank you. I came home knowing that I would address this issue! So. Here is what I did. Step one: I built a study model. For this I used kneaded eraser, I love this stuff.

Fixing whatever happened. Now testing. Testing again.





Before I leave to cut styrene sheet, I gotta ask ya—is it true? Is Jack Burton really Santa Claus, and can I watch this on Netflix without mood stabilizers?? That’s two questions, I know. “Yessir, the check is in the mail.”

Holy cow that looks way better. Don’t get me wrong, size issues aside, the previous iteration was good work. But yeah bro, I’m with our esteemed colleague Mr. Carlos on this- that’s even better and it looks just right in there. You got it snug up against that firewall where it needs to be, and you’ve got enough space for your plumbing and the other thingunmabobbers that make the engine work, and it’s gonna be rad. Also, I dig how clean you work with that styrene. We gotta have a sidebar Skype call about that one day because I’d like to pick your brain.
