Thank you gentlemen, for the kind words and the moral support. I didn’t realize how much it would affect me, when my kids get sick. It’s like, I want to make them feel better but there’s not a whole lot I can do. I mostly just hold them. I spent a good part of today holding Vance because he’s in such discomfort. He couldn’t take a proper nap in his crib because he was coughing so much from the sinus drainage. On top of everything else they’re burning cane fields. And we’re allergic to the smoke and ash. That’s not helping. Hopefully all the rain we got today and are getting tonight will wash that crap out of the air.

Speaking of weather, it didn’t abide today. But that was okay. Like I said, my boy wasn’t napping so I went in and grabbed him, sat down with him in the rocking chair, and held him for a while so he could sleep better. He always sleeps when I hold him like that.

So I’ll just try again to flat coat tomorrow, no problem. I’ve resolved not to get frustrated when the schedule gets disrupted. It’ll get done here soon. And I did make a lot of good progress this week.

Also, Stuart, right on brother. I can’t think of a better group of guys I’d like to build tanks with. Building tanks is awesome. And on that subject, my Tamiya STUG III arrived in the mail today! Would y’all like some sprue shots? I’ll post some tomorrow if you would. Now I’m just waiting on my forefly to arrive. I’m pretty excited.

You may be right! I woke up this morning after sleeping for ten hours soaked with sweat. Gave Mrs. Kenny X a proper scare LOL But the fever was completely gone! Cup of tea with a shot of whisky, and a hot shower before bed, then under several blankets to sweat it out. Let my immune system cry havoc and let slip the Panzers of war, my man. I feel so much better today. Still not 100%, but getting there.

SO, first order of business, I got the Flat Clear sprayed on the Panzer!





Mrs. Kenny X took the bébés for a walk so I could have a few moments to get that knocked out. I was in a huge hurry when I did this, and I may hit it again on Monday just for good measure, to make sure those decals are sealed up. I don’t spray Clear well, and I don’t want to take chances.

Second order of business! Here’s some sprue shots of Tamiya’s 1:35 STUG III!













I’m looking forward to building that one. But I’m gonna wait on it. My revised armor building order is gonna go like this:

1. Finish the Panzer

2. Build and finish the forthcoming Firefly

3. Build and finish my Star Wars X WWII Afrika Korps AT-ST (laughs)

4. STUG III

I’ll tell ya buddy, my Panzer has been fun to build, but the fills were kind of a pain in the ass. Leftover holes from when they were motorized. My fills came out ugly. That’s my only complaint with this kit. And better modelers than me probably wouldn’t be hindered by that at all. The STUG kit looks great and there’s no holes to fill right out the gate, and that’s awesome!

That Panzer is looking very smart – you’ve done some nice work on that. Looking forward to seeing it with the tracks on.

Thank you Stuart! Yeah buddy I got that and my P 51-B kit in the mail last week too and it’s all I can do to keep my hands off both of them!

In the interests of leaving those kits alone, I took some time and did some light rust on the Panzer’s muffler and exhaust. Have a look:



I’ve seen models where the tank didn’t look too beat up but the muffler and exhaust looked like it was ready to rust out. I didn’t want to take it that far. Not sure if I’ll wipe it or leave it yet. I think I’m liking it.
