Thank you! And man, that was a relief indeed.this one will get clear coated tomorrow, and then a panel line wash. And the landing gear will get started this week, too. It’ll be good to have this one on the shelf next to my previous Galland Emil. I’m really looking forward to that. HOWEVER- I’m going to be paying more attention to the gear. Your recent updates to your Dora thread and the fantastic photos of your work are really inspiring me in that direction. I really need to pay more attention to details like that. I mean, I put so much into the build everyplace else, why not?

And you got it my man, I run a lot of things by my wife. A whole lot of things. And sometimes I think she just humors me. I really do. But then again, after I’d been on my hiatus awhile, she did say to me “I really miss you talking about your models.” Come to think of it, seems like she’s always popping into my hole whenever I’m working on stuff, to ask me various questions about all manner of things. And she always looks over my stuff. And she never busts my stones about the time I spend with the models....

My wife is the same way. She's always willing to help me out. It doesn't that she's an artist in her own right.

Yeah, I have to say, I’m a fan of the pin wash. Never really did them before this aircraft. Did a sludge was on that Von Werra Emil, but I like this better. I used oils. Burnt Umber on the sides and bottom, and a mix of Payne’s Gray and Burnt Umber for the top of the wings. Worked very well!

And yeah, after Bruce’s lighting advice I started messing with my setup. Pics will continue to improve.

Perhaps not! Maybe we just need to fix you up with the right kind of wash!

I have tried Tamiya panel line accent. It works well enough but you have to clean it up with lacquer thinner. I’ve tried Mig’s too. But I like oils better, and I prefer them. The Mona Lisa mineral spirit is gentle, easy to clean up, and isn’t terribly viscous. And the oils aren’t gritty like a pigment is. The oils thin down beautifully, and zip into the tiny details no problem. And cleanup is easy and that’s important to me. You might want to try that if you haven’t already! Maybe oils would work for you and show off those panel lines on your stuff.

Thanks Kenny. I do mix my own washes with Mona Lisa thinner and Windsor Newton oils. I also keep my washes in empty Tamiya Extra Thin bottles. That pointy brush at the end which applies the glue so well also applies the wash fairly well. My wash sometimes ends up all grainy though so I need to find a way to mix it better. I don't want to get Mig's wash since it is very expensive for me and I don't want to get hooked on something I cannot regularly buy. The Tamiya panel line accent might be something, but it is up there in price as well, although not as high as Mig.

Maybe I just need to keep practicing. Thanks again for the encouragement.
