Moisture could definitely be part of the issue. I am currently in the French Alps and we are literally in the clouds half of the time. So the best thing is can to is find another place to spray. There is a “technical room” (where the central heater and the oil tank are) so maybe I should use that.

I hate it when that happens. Hopefully you’re able to strip and try again. I’d hate to see this kit end up in the Shelf of Doom or worst in the trash.

Borg, yes, then it would be moisture collecting. I would gently say no to spraying in an area with a furnace, and suggest you use a small heater and hair dryer to keep the model warmer and dry... sounds a bit much, perhaps but I generally acclimatize my equipment (shooting in an extinct volcanic crater was a challenge!) by treating tools as part of my body—wrap them, keep them dry, and if it is only the fuselage that is wrinkling, perhaps increasing air flow to help degas more efficiently. The problem may be moisture collecting post painting session. Let us know.

Sorry to hear about the setback in the paint finish on this beautiful little build. I have no idea what is happening with the cracking but sometimes something strange happen when putting on layers of dissimilar brands/types of paint. I'm guessing it is temperature-related but I've never sprayed in freezing conditions.

I sprayed the last BMF coat indoors. That went much better. After that the construction went quite easy. I had kept the cilinder heads off during the spraying. I gluead those and the wheels on. Everything looks quite nice now. Just a bit to shiny. So next up is a wash and some detail painting. And maybe a flat coat. Not sure about that yet.

Glad to see that the BMF went on better this time. Very interesting looking aircraft!

I have coated the whole aircraft with a mixture of Future (locally sold as Klir) and a few drops of grey and black. As you can see from the picture halfway it both tones down the shiny metal and adds some shading.
Just a few more details and four strings of rigging. This truly is a speed build for me.
