The Duke's Final Armor for 2018

Post by Duke Maddog »

Okay, after a bit of free time for the Hobby Room, I was able to finish these last two armor models that were so close to the finish line.

This first one is the 1/72 scale ACE Italian Lince armored car. It turned out to be all wonky and misaligned, but it is finished. I'm not sure what else I could have done with this without making it a major production, but at least I have all four wheels on the ground:

This next one is another one that gave me fits. I just decided enough was enough and I finished it off. This is the Riich Models 1/72 scale M-992 armored artillery support vehicle:

That's all for now, and for 2018. Stay tuned for more next year. Thanks for looking in, comments are welcome.

Very nice last couple of 2018!

Looks special without a gun, the M992!

Thanks Kari! Yeah, that M-992 does look a little "incomplete"! :giggles: At least it has a little gun!

Thanks Clint! You are very kind.

That’s a nice pair to finish up the year! I really like the M992! :shoutout:

Oh, I suppose it’s all relative, but the gun on the 992 is bigger than the gun on the Lince. And believe you me, having humped a few .50s from one place to another once upon a time, the .50 is no little gun...

Perhaps when compared to the 155mm gun that it supports it’s little... but all on its own, one on one... :ballbat:

I'm sorry to learn the ACE Lince Light Armored Car was wonky. It's an interesting subject. Is yours made as a police vehicle? I'm sorry the kit kind of let you down. You managed far more than a four wheel alignment, my friend. Good job and congratulations on both final armor pieces for the year 2018!

Thanks Carlos! Yeah, the Ma Deuce is a large gun; I'd heard someone once say that the "Ma Deuce fires you, you do not fire it!"

Bruce, thanks! Yeah, this Lince was one of ACE's short run kits from his previous molding system. I could have done more with it, but I just wanted to get something small done and out of the way. This one is painted and marked as an Army car from 1946. Their police vehicles are painted as a maroon color and I didn't think that would fit in my collection.
