Congratulations, Borg. A great subject and kit are coming together so well.
Make more models!
Re: 1/72 Revell Mig-21 F-13
I have sprayed the aluminium straight on the plastic. It went on great. It was off course a bit shiny so I coated it with a future/grey/black mixture.
On the photos the top and right wing are coated.

And the decals are on! These where super decals, Italian printed (Cartograf? Zanetti?). Two nitpicks. Firstly there are only two decal options (the first boxing had more). Secondly decal number 5 should have folded over the wing but it wouldn’t conform. It is a green panel so I will paint that.

Those Migs (both the older and the newer version) just have something in them.
This could have also been an option...

Those decals look good Borg!
I’m not surprised you had issues folding them over the leading edge – I always have issues with that. These days I either paint (as you are going to) or I position the decal on one surface and let it dry flat first, and then fold it over the attach the other edge – this is how I generally deal with RAF WWII tail markings.

The Have Doughnut program was indeed very interesting. I have a book about it. However, within the limitations of this vacation build going aftermarket for the decals wasn’t an option. But maybe in the future because this is a fun an easy build.
