New to the forum

Post by keavdog »

Hey all - I'm new to this forum. Been building models for forever. Wasn't clear where to do the new intro but here I go. I build mostly 1/48 military aircraft, a few different scale commercial aircraft, bikes, a few cars and figures. Anyhow - here's my last aircraft models for an idea of what I do
Minicraft1/144 EC-121R

Tamiya 1/48 F4F-4

Tiny 1/200 DC-3 - note the toothpick
Image
1/200 Hasegawa 727 USPS livery
Image
1/48 F86-F-30 Jabara
Image
1/72 S2T Turbo Tracker - Cal Fire
Image
1/48 F-16A Falcon
Image
1/48 Tamiya Spitfire Mk1
Image
1/48 Isracast Texan II

Please let me know if this is the wrong place to post.
Thanks,
John

Hi John, You are most definitely in the right place and your work looks great. is the F86-F30 the Academy kit and is the DC-3 made by Hasegawa? I am glad you pointed out the toothpick. Wow! That is impressive! What a beautiful, beautiful project. Does the Hase kit come with those decals? There is so much good work here! I also applaud your 1/144 Minicraft "Bat Cat." What a camo! I am not giving short shrift to the other projects in your post, either. You certainly joined with a real splash! Thank you so much for sharing your projects!

p.s. I was given Revell's F-16A as a gift last year. You did a beautiful job, sir!

The Sabre is the Hasegawa kit as is the tiny DC-3. The decals for the DC-3 are from Draw decals - Greg has a great selection but with the continuous film and extremely thin decals they require a bit of finesse. BTW - the DC-3 was painted with Alclad airframe aluminum 119. Amazing paint - really results in that super shiny finish
Thanks,
John

Wouh, what an introduction!

The DC-3 is truly tiny! If it would be standing alone, you could almost mix it with a 1/72 scale DC-3..

Thanks sharing these!

Great looking builds. Love the Connie...and the others. Welcome.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Now THAT is an introduction!

Those are all real beauties! I can’t decide which I like best, but I am a sucker for Sabre’s, and the Connie looks so different in SEA camo.
