I’m with Joe. Try some gel super glue, and needle files. I’m a big fan of both. That should take care of the ejector pin marks.

Thank you for the recommendations, folks. I attempted super glue first, but founthat it behaved in a manner which was too unwieldy for my liking when operating on an aircraft with a finish on it. My super glue is kind of “stringy” when I take small globs of it out of the bottle on a cocktail umbrella. I didn’t want to risk getting even a little of it on the paint.

What I did instead was thin some Mr. White Putty, just to keep it from drying too soon, then rolled it into small balls, and applied the balls to the pin marks with an exacto blade. I let them dry overnight (I knew I wouldn’t sleep if I didn’t at least start the fix), and then sanded them down with a small, thin strip of sandpaper. Here’s the progress mid-way through sanding:



Then I used a thin strip of finer grit sandpaper. When that was done I began blending it in using my Flat aluminum. I’d just brush a small bit on, let it set for a minute, then add more, let it sit, repeat. Here is was during that process:



After that, I blended some more and for the sake of uniformity, I dry brushed the Flat Aluminum over the gear parts in-general, to tie it together. Here’s the results so far. I’m letting that dry before I get after it again later for more blending:



I’m not going to get super-precise with it because there’s a cover that fits over the front of the strut:



And that’ll obscure things enough when viewed in profile to where it won’t look like I even touched it.

Whew. Glad that’s working out.

Back to business-as-usual.

Thank you! Heh, cheers to modeling blinders (I know I had mine on, like Bruce said, about 110% of my focus was the effects), and solid recoveries!

Not much to report today, except along with the fix, I got these covers installed:



I’m holding off on installing the gear bay doors yet. They have some lovely detail in them which I want to bring out. I’ll be working on detailing those this weekend.
