Carlos, yessir. No other way really.

Stuart, just that took me a good half hour to get right. I hate masking and painting canopies. But I hate it when my canopy looks crappy even worse.

HEHE thanks buddy! I’ll have that canopy totally masked and painted soon and we’ll see how she looks with her hat on!

OOo, that is a great way to mask clear parts, to keep the pieces still attached to the sprues!

Will certainly try the same!

Bravo!

Kari,

One Caveet Emperor on this method. My pal Chris from facebook, whom I met in the Barracuda Studios Ready Room warned me against doing this as the risks of accidentally causing stress cracks in the clear plastic around the sprue attachment points is apparently high. For the old boy Kenny X, that’s a risk I’m willing to take due to the fact that the risks of me dropping these parts and backing over them with my chair or losing them completely increase many orders of magnitude for every minute they’re off the sprue.

So just handle it with care, and you should be good to go. I haven’t had a problem (yet).

Aside from completely ruining the masks I bought for it while trying to get them on the canopy parts perfectly, NOSIR.

Well, I suppose that isn’t entirely true. I have some liquid mask coming in the mail, and I’m going to try and make that work.

I hate masking and painting windscreens and canopies. I suck at it and no matter how much attention I pay to doing it, I don’t improve. It’s my white whale.
