This Matchbox Viggen was finished in 2017 but last weekend I took some fresh pictures of her I wanna show. Beside a scratched cockpit it is build almost oob. Painted with Vallejo Metal Color. Took original decals.
What a beautiful plane, beautiful finish, beautiful build !
Nice to see Swedish markings also!
What is not so commonly known, but during the first stages of the cold war, Swedish air force was the 4th biggest air force in the world!! Not bad for a small nation..

Shiny indeed! Beautiful work! The multi tone panel look is simpler superb.
"Surely I have made my meaning plain? I intend to avenge myself upon you, Admiral. I have deprived your ship of power, and when I swing 'round, I intend to deprive you of your life."
That kit has a bit of a bad reputation but you certainly made the most out of it. I like the bare metal finish that the first Viggens had. You don’t see that modelled often.
I echo what the others write, particularly Borg. I wonder what the old kit designers would think if they viewed such an incredible project made from their designs. Joy, I would imagine. Not only do you bring respect to the subject but you bring respect to the kit. As a wee lad I remember seeing a box of bright colored Matchbox sprues—and wondering what that would look like when the pieces are put together. Now I know! Congratulations!
Wow, I still have no way to ever replicate that type of bare metal finish! This is stunning, more so because it's a Matchbox kit! Way to go man!

We are modelers - the same in spirit, in hunger to insanely buy newly released kits, hustlers in hiding our stash from our better halves and experts in using garbage as replacements for after-market parts.
The front portion reminds me of the Dornier Do 335 trainer version. But I think the second canopy suits the lines of the Viggen much better. Great build!
I am a huge fan of Swedish aircraft. This is a great build of a great aircraft. I will have to remember this kit for the trainer version of the Viggen.
