Yeah, Joe—you and John both are right. I am not used to having a kit provide all parts of this quality before. This is shorting out my usual search for parts. Although I do like that Eagle Parts propeller hub and blades. My base plan is to do a “mostrich” by building a crescent shaped base to represent the swath of grass as the aircraft is being turned. The photo on page one sort of strikes me as being dynamic and static.

I think a member of the ground crew is using the “pitchfork” built to turn the tail wheel!

A plus with many short-run kits is that they often include resin and photo-etch stuff which simplifies the buying process. Keeping it simple is a good mantra to hum in your head when piecing together components to a build. I wasn't sure if you got a new or used kit with missing components so I didn't want to assume anything. I agree about the texture on the Eduard pre-painted photoetch stuff. Hate it and also that purple color. A flat coat will cut down on the fabric texture dramatically but the wacky color remains. If you are adventurous, you could use acetone or thinner to remove the color but you'd have to re-paint by hand.

Thanks for the comments on the photos from my trip, Bruce! I shot in RAW on a Canon 5D Mark IV with four lenses: 70-200 f/2.8 IS, 85 f/1.2, 50 f/1.4 and the old 24-105 f/4 IS as my all-around lens. I am processing my photos in Adobe Lightroom. I'm not familiar with "5K"... but I am assuming I am getting max quality with Lightroom yes? The work flow is slow going... one photo at a time... but I kinda like the process. It allows me to revisit the various milestones of the trip from a rear view perspective.

Nice dog pic! I like shooting animals too but I'm more comfortable with human subjects.

The resin cockpit tub looks very good to me! And the IP color doesn't look bad. It seems to lack the distinct purple tone that many Eduard panels have. After you put the IP pieces together, try spraying a flat coat over it to tone down the texture. And then a drop of clear gloss in each dial to simulate glass. Does the Pacific Coast kit give you a plastic instrument panel to place the photoetch on?

Yes! Indeed, PCM does provide a base plate.

Excuse the wet surfaces. I am soaking parts post resin block removal.

Looks like your figuring things out. I was going to say I think the stencils' for the props are on the decal sheet but I wasn't sure. I'm sure you can find some 1/32 figures close and modify them to fit that photo. The guy up on the wing I think ZM makes one in that exact pose.

You are absolutely right about ZM Superwings Figures. I could not find any online photos large enough to repost here, but I will write them an email asking for better or more enhanced images.

These figures also are simply superb!
