I don't think the Quickboost barrels would be any improvement over the kit guns. But the metal barrels are COOL. Sometimes I'll buy things just because they are cool. But I honestly don't think they'll make a noticeable improvement in this build.

Yes, agree! Metal barrels have that something extra.... besides that they usually are one step "sharper" in details, they also are a little bit heavier, that makes them so COOL!jkim wrote:I don't think the Quickboost barrels would be any improvement over the kit guns. Metal gun barrels (at least brass and similar metals) are also much more rigid and sturdy than resin ones. A little more survivable for those unforeseen events we tend to get at the wrong moment...

That’s good test-fitting! And that kit looks like she’s going together very well. No surprises with this methodology. Plus you get nice pictures. I like the fitnthere of the cowling and stuff most especially. And your cockpit set is looking nice in there too. Very good.

Re: Pacific Coast Models 1/32 Fw 190A-1. Black 13. Belgium,
Ok.. so you've got some minor gaps at the wing roots. Depending on the dihedral of course, can you get rid of the gaps by simply lifting the wing tips up slightly? If not, you can also use spacers to make the fuselage slightly wider at the appropriate points.
Fit looks very good so far! Are you going to represent this an A-0 as Torben pointed out?

Goodies from Torben:

Ken—thanks for being so encouraging and John—I agree with you completely... I need to saw the wheel well free of its casting stub and test fit that piece inside to determine if the resin needs to be adjusted. I know you and Torben advised to work outside in, and I want to send you my thanks for doing this. By the way, the wheel well design is very intriguing. More on that in a bit.

I think the tail was replaced—the upper camo is crosshatched?
