I have been thinking of the details. I know Barracuda makes a cockpit placard set for their resin Mustang P-51A and D cockpit, so I thought somebody out there would make something similar for the Anton’s pit. And Lo, Eduard does.

I think this project deserves placards. Definitely. Spring for the Eduard placards, definitely!

Cockpit placards are a nice idea! But I would prefer decals over PE...

Thank you for your vote, Ken! John, those decals look very nice! Very nice indeed. With those more options appear to be available—more detailing. I would really like to center the Focke Wulf logo over the flare compartment if one is available or if I wanna get busy making one.

I started looking for decent vector art a couple of days ago.

The PE placards are nice but I also prefer decals
March as one, Don't look back
Odin's sons... Attack!
Unleash hell! Do not repent! Warfare grants us no lament
Let your weapons slash and tear This is no place for fear
Hold the lines! Move as one! In unity our victory's won
Our shields will form a mighty wall
United we shall never fall

If you are going to replicate the data stencils and FW logo... it's going to be one heckuva detailed cockpit when you are done! That logo is going to seriously tiny and it'll be difficult to find it in decal form, I would imagine. You can take a stab at creating it yourself. Here's one possible way...

Re the Fw logo: Wow, John! That is absolutely spot on! I see the series you did, but I am curious to know how you pulled that off—particularly the stylized bird in the center. That is clean work if you cut a mask! That is extraordinary and outstanding work. You are Gandalf! A wizard!

The main reason I am Team Eduard at this point is because the sections necessary to complete the added detailing are already here—ready to be glued to the empty slab areas of the cockpit. I think the similarities between this PCM kit and Hasegawa are real—part of the design DNA.

The PE should work ok too. But I don't think you'll see the same type of resolution on the PE that you would on a decal.

That logo was simply hand painted... quick and easy. It looks pretty crappy if you zoom into it but I just treated it as a stylized "L".

Hey, if it looks great from here, then you’ve done the job!

Hand-painting little details like that is something I need to get better at.

Bruce,

I already liked the job you did with the base coat and enamels on that seat, but look here- the effect looked lovey in the color photographs, but now here in black and white, installed in the tub with the harness included, the thing looks REAL. I’m not joking. For a second and a half I thought you were being cheeky and superimposed a pic of a relic onto that instruction sheet. Gee wiz that’s lovely, subtle work!
