Time away from the bench usually results in one of two things... a break and a return when you feel up to it, or a drive to return ASAP and get more done because the drive is flowing thru you. Don’t force it.

But if the mojo is flowing, run with it. Before I started the A-10 I was in a funk model wise. Building that A-10 got me on such a roll that I haven't stopped since!!

Medic—Thanks so much for your advice! I feel with your subject you hit the jackpot—a door buster for your mojo. I remember thinking that you were in a sweet spot when you started assembling the the Warthog—and it shows in your work!

John—Thanks so much for your encouragement! My goal is to paint by tomorrow. I need to add a few other pieces to the paint list—the rear deck behind the pilot, perhaps the resin engine as well. I am still anxiously awaiting the placards! Also I talked to Matthew about building a base for this aircraft. Also I am applying for jobs, building a new website and the building owners hired a construction crew to retrofit the entire building. This disrupts those who live above the rear car port (me and the couple above me) the most at present. There is a wall of earth six feet high underneath me as I type these words, from their excavations. My unit cantilevers over the rear car port itself. I hope they don’t drag this out until May.

The base would be a close approximation of the series of Black 13 images—the only ones we seem to have of her—taken on a misty morning in Belgium. What I would like Matthew to do is make the base fold up for storage and transport—perhaps similar to the way a traveling chess set folds. I also want to feature the bales of hay as a separate installation piece. Ideally I would like to figure out a way to fabricate this.

Sounds like a good plan for the base. Hope the repairs on your place are finished up in a timely manner too, it sucks living in construction I did for 3.5 years working on remodeling are entire house. Hope to see some paint on this soon but don't force it if your not feeling it, I've lost all joy on the Storch the engine and general construction was going great but the snag with the wing, then my paint issue and now I just want to try and salvage this somehow and get it to the shelf.

Thank you for the kind words, Clint. I believe we all work so hard to make the best project possible, despite all of the issues along the way—but I truly believe in what we can do and how we can do it as modelers. I just wish my apartment did not smell like a dung heap, even with the windows closed, lol. I’m going to see Matthew on Thursday which always is a good creative shot in the arm. He has a great garage workshop which is just a fantastic way to scheme and dream and cut up wood at the same time. So I know I have to actually mock up the exterior of the aircraft so he can see what he is making and get the dimensions right. This will kick me in the butt to do an assembly as much as is possible. And that usually helps!
