Pacific Coast Models 1/32 Fw 190A-1. Black 13. Belgium, 1941
Re: Pacific Coast Models 1/32 Fw 190A-1. Black 13. Belgium,
If you can get an A-5 prop from Mr Daehne, I’d grab it! Not sure but I think the A-5 shared the same prop as earlier versions. Let me know how much shipping is... he mentioned an increase. I still have a couple of D-9 and one K-4 prop but always have one eye open for his amazing sets. They are incredible... the best resin I’ve had the pleasure of working with in person.

John—Definitely! I did want Henri to know why I wanted the A-5 propeller, though—and gave him the name of the kit, too. He has so much integrity with his work that I wanted to ask him for advice. Also I asked him because I have no idea if the number of blades in the A-5 fan is the same as the A-1’s fan, etc.

That cup is somebody's Japanese ceramic project—not mine—rescued from an art studio I worked at. Nobody wanted it then and nobody wants it now... but I have a soft spot for strays, runts and ugly ceramics so it has a home.

Bro, I love mismatched dishes, old dishes, eclectic ceramics rescued from wherever.... that’s awesome.
And I like that prop and spinner, too. Also, mental note- check blades for seams and sand them if there are! I haven’t thought to do that before but that’s a good idea!

Re: Pacific Coast Models 1/32 Fw 190A-1. Black 13. Belgium,
Ken—Yes! “Cripples, Bastards, Broken Things” could refer to a lot of my collecting instincts. I have been ramping up a little for the final season of the Thrones coming soon.
Reshaping airscrews by thinning blades goes hand in hand with seam removal. I used the thinnest square file to do the removal of the seam at the stepped edge of the VDM9 base. I am going to go with this being VDM9 metal blades for the moment. Maybe a sanding stick would be better. The flat needle file was efficient, though.

Re: Pacific Coast Models 1/32 Fw 190A-1. Black 13. Belgium,
Thanks, bud! I am still wiping egg off my face for reading the wrong A-10 instructions on Lyle’s thread. I am sincerely glad to be painting again, though. I can see why enamels like these are a high standard for many model builders. The coverage is smooth! Thanks for teaching me so much, Carlos!

Hating on enamels is a fad. There is nothing wrong with the time tested tried and true. I think that people exaggerate the risks of enamels. After using them for 50 years myself, if they’re gonna kill me, they sure are awful slow about it.
