Marius! Your projects are amazing, man! I like the focus on design, too. I have never heard of the TV series called “Riptide,” although I am now tempted to hunt down its first episode just to see why the chopper is painted pink! How did you ever find out about the show? It seems obscure.

You are always extremely welcome here. I am grateful you are here exploring lines of inquiry with your combinations of old kits meet new bits and always it seems a personal end goal to make the Matchbox or local hobby shop reappear inside a small box as a way to rekindle the way we look at the world when we are young.... well wow! Yes, that feels almost right for me, but I’m always curious what you are thinking and doing.

I really like Copic series of markers and I don’t know what happened to mine so I am taking notes of your sizes used. Thanks very much.

It’s good to enter contests amongst groups because your work heads toward capturing the soul of the aircraft. It’s good to see the collaged views because these show your process. In fact, I know I am made a better modeler because I follow you. Because you show these steps. It’s easy to write, “After six hours cutting, drilling and sanding the canopy frame was finished,” but it’s quite another to document those moments. Thank you for being fearless about the documentation.

Your work also just wakes me up to possibilities of more ideas. Models are about possibilities too. Your “What if Ta 152” is so flawless to me in this regard. When I see it I think the plane is actually at an air show somewhere in Germany. It just looks utterly believable. I also believe that 2017-18 may have been the years of capturing a metal finish in 1/72 scale for you, and the SAAB is the summation of a line of developing ideas!

Well Bruce, "Riptide" was a 3-seasoned TV-series from mid of the 80s. It was my favorite TV-series because of the Screaming Mimi. In Germany it was named "Trio mit vier Fäusten" and was broadcasted by ZDF. What a moment, when Matchbox released their Wessex as it looked almost like the S-58T (from the view of an elven year’s old boy). Unfortunately, I never finished it and it is lost.

I am showing my work here to get input, to make it better next time. If it is inspiring anybody - wonderful.
For me modeling is the chance for keeping great moments in mind, capturing a mood and store it. This hobby is such a difference to our unfriendly business world driven by successors, low-performers and apple-polishers. Modeling is silence for me while silence is highly underrated these days. It doesn't matter how good anything you do is, it is always a statement of your soul. That's why we are all very sensitive regarding bad criticism.
My models preserve good feelings of my life. They are connected to situations and experiences. E.g. when I am doing a P-38 today, I see my grandpa who passed away 16 years ago, in front of me, talking about WW2 while I am doing a P-38. He is talking about the P-38, when he had seen one at the horizon, fearing as a war Prisoner the Lightning, the Devils Folk, as much as the Germans. This situation is deep in my mind forever. Also, the massive damaged B-17, low flying over farms in Western Germany after a bomb raid. I remember building a Me 109, which reminded him to visualize me when Mölder’s Me 109 were in Maldegem, Belgium in 1940. However, I am not only captured in the past with a melancholic view. My wife is a big big Queen fan. That's why I want to build a Sikorsky S-76 in Queen livery one day. I am building planes in liveries of countries we visited. For me it is all about conserving good emotions.

Getting back to the S-58T: thank you all for sharing These great photos. I really need drawings, views to do a 3d-cad-modell or Scratch the nose...

Hi Bruce, thanks for asking. Everything allright. Busy weeks at work.

Stick: I like this image very much. It shows how dirty that helicopter was the entire TV-series.
Bruce: Your concepts are very interesting and definetly a way to do it. But without side-views and one dimension to define drawing scale it is almost impossible for me to start. It would only be a look-a-like...
The interesting thing of your papermodel is that your steps look like CAD-modeling with paper.
