The Albatros. A beautiful design made by mankind. In New Zealand.

This is my first big scale plane and my first Drahtverhau (wire entanglement), too. So two premiers at once.
To adopt slowly but steady to the new circumstances, I started the build with the engine. I had a blast. It all fitted beautifully. Some minor parting lines, but keeping in mind that this is the 5th relaese of the kit, it's nothing I'd complain about. Added some obligatory wire and the Asbestos wrapping. For doing it I stole a great idea over at Britmodeller. He used... floss! With its super fine fibers it's perfect for the job. Plus I already had it at teeth hand.

Going to throw a lot of AM at it. The big HGW set with everything in it, including John's 'highly praised' harnesses. *shudder* Also Uschi's plywood decals for the win. Then a small wooden surprise that didn't arrive yet and a mind blowing cool real metal exhaust from REXx. Look how thin that sheet is!

Painting that engine is the job for the coming week. Oh, and the bird is not going to be an all red one!
