Thanks Lyle. That is a small area to be working in, so it’s lots of tweezers and needle files.....

That makes it even more impressive. Way to go Carlos, this looks great so far.

How about something for a size ref? I don't build these at all...1) way to tiny for me and 2) I don't do ships...to much fiddle/faddle for me. I deeply admire those that tackle these projects, though.Stikpusher wrote:Thanks Lyle. That is a small area to be working in, so it’s lots of tweezers and needle files.....
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Here we go... for scale reference, the obligatory giant penny photo...

Okay, now I'm really impressed. Sheesh, that is small.

Thanks Lyle. It is small indeed. This project is going to push my skills past what I’ve done before.LyleW wrote:Okay, now I'm really impressed. Sheesh, that is small.

You are amazing, Carlos! That is one of the smallest work areas I have ever seen! The brass mesh is spot on! Excellent work, sir!

Make more models!

Thank you Bruce. So far it’s equal measures of passion for the project, precision for all that tiny stuff, and headaches for the “repeat as needed” until I get it right...

Re: USS Edwin A Howard DE 346 project- progress 3/28 p.3
Minor progress today. I had to re arrange the configuration of the bridge cutback. Turns out, that is the sound room cabin, which I presume is where a sonar operator sits. Anyways it goes width wise, rather than lengthwise as I had it. I also added some more floor plating in front of where the optical rangefinder goes. And I opened up a couple portals on the open bridge bulkheads that were missing from the kit. This is just a test fit for the photos.

Hopefully I can get a bit more done tomorrow...
