M551 Sheridan - Tamiya 1/35

Post by Norman »

It was quiet around me for a long time. The desire for plastic modeling was indeed available but it did not work anymore. Well, 2019 it seems to work out and I finished my first kit after years of frustration. :bye:

I hope you like it.

Norman, welcome back! I commented on your Vietnam beauty elsewhere and I'm glad I finally can do it here on SPAM. I can't get over at what you did with the weathering. All that dust and streaking looks amazing.

Let your mojo flow and please show us more in the near future!
Cheers,
Torben

Welcome to SPAM Norman, and very nice work! I’m really liking your paint work on the figures and the stowage items.
Did you make any changes to the kit, or is this what comes in the box?

A nice dirty build! It looks great and welcome.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

The Detail-Up Parts(12687) from Tamiya was used for the build, gun barrel and grills. 98% is out of the box. I painted the Sheridan with AK REAL Colors. Weathering with Abtl. 502 Oils and some ofther stuff from AK Interactive and Ammo of Mig, e.g. pigments, washes, filters, dust and mud products. Color for the figures are from AK Figures Series Paint-Set, really good color with a nice matte finish.

Welcome to SPAM Norman and congrats on finishing your first for 2019! May it be the first of many more. That is a sensational looking tank as well; I hope that one I do in 1/72 scale looks half as good as that when I can get one done.

The Rayban sunglasses on the driver steal the show. Are those an addition or were the designers at Tamiya spot on? Either way—Fantastic work. From reflection, you have built an amazing model. The techniques are strong yet agile and your photography made with such care for the presentation, there is now a new sound and these are great visuals. Keep rumbling! Congratulations, sir.
