I recognize this line of thinking. I get this way, too or rather I let myself get this way by comparing myself to others. The reality is we are all modelers. I wrote this one fella Ralph with no idea who he is... and he is just a really great guy who happens to be a master model builder as well. Truly. A master. What Ralph has in common with our masters here is his willingness to answer questions and even more important to call what we do an “adventure,” and I write that to you because you are very much an adventurer, Stuart. I follow you where you lead because of who you are. By following your builds, I became a little better at brush painting and much more aware of what types of paints and brushes to use. In 2015 I thought the sun rose and set on the Testors military paint sets because Testors was all I knew. You, Carlos and others here widened my gaze—and my collection of enamel pots has grown! Cheers, mate.

I've been on several sites that have excellent builders but unlike here they was closed lip and wouldn't answer any questions or was just uppity with their answer. Here we have great builders and great people, I've learned more on this site in my short time here than I ever had elsewhere. Thank you all.

I think the guys here on SPAM are the best group I've ever found on any forum - Not only great builders but supportive and encouraging too. There's not a man here I wouldn't want to have a few Beers with. And that's why I've stopped posting on any other forum, I'd rather spend my time here.

Thanks Bruce you're too kind. Thankfully I don't sweat about it too much. I know what my skills are and I do work to improve them, but I'm just happy to enjoy the brilliance others put out - rather than worry I don't meet it.

I think the magneto looks fine. If you are adventurous, you could add some ducting on the sides.

To echo John: Cheers! Also: thanks for your advice and the photos, John! I am gonna guess that as the engine evolved so did the magneto. Perhaps it was redesigned for more power.

Maybe the design team moved those conduits back so they would not be shredded by the proximity to the cooling fan. Something I always appreciate about your research is you know how to judge what matters visually and what does not. I am going to add details similar to the 801A’s zündmagnet. I do think it is the only visible engine component and may not even be visible at scale, but I am going to add the details.

Kari and Torben! Good evening and thank you both! I sincerely appreciate your comments! I just... I saw another build of this kit which was fine but the engine plug was simply painted so I thought I would do something to a detail or details closer and perhaps slightly more visible and that zündmagnet is possibly the only piece of engine detail that has something of a chance to be seen.

Regarding the sketches, thank you so much for your comments. I hurt my forearm a few days ago and have quietly been doing unofficial physical therapy with the sober realization that I depend on that arm to draw and type and hold a camera and I must be more careful.
