Brent—Your work is amazing and inspiring. The level of detailing you added and revealed through the painting-weathering combination makes the aircraft come to life. From the start of your posts, I never once thought this was a model of an aircraft (although of course it is) but a full size actual 1:1 version. I believe that is from the kind of magical synergy between maker and kit that happens when there is real integrity as well as passion for the subject itself. Also, the level of wear and tear is always modulated so well.

I have a couple of questions about details—on page one of your thread the yellow electrical wiring looms added are made of..? And painted with...? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the kind words.. I am pretty sure that most of the “wiring” from the ip was from a small device charging cable that I stripped the insulation off and unwound the core. I painted it with Model Master enamel Chrome Yellow and then sprayed it with quite a few layers of dullcote. The dullcote seems to make the paint somewhat pliable when bending and if you avoid over handling it touch ups are minimal. HTH Thanks again! Brent

Handiabled wrote:Thank you everyone! I am still chipping away at this as I can get to it. I was able to get it fitted together for a quick look at how it's looking when assembled. Wings are almost done, and engine covers completed with a combo of salt chipping, dry brushing and a little "pfm" in the early morning hours. Hope you enjoy and as always thanks for lookin!

Well I am finally done with this, thank you to everyone who left words of encouragement during this build. I have to give credit to my Daughter Samantha who kindly took the final pictures for me with her photography equipment. She is also working on a couple of "special" shots of this that I will get posted once she polishes them up. I hope you all enjoy my hangar queen HO-229.... cause here are about 200 pictures of it.....

As always Thanks for lookin! :-D

I’m going to have to look at all of these photographs many more times in order to take it all in. This is some fantastic work. Truly fantastic. To me, it’s a thing to marvel at. Such lovey work. Thank you for doing this project and sharing it. This inspires me.

Stunning work, I'm just at a loss for words.
