1/35 Meng Sd. Kfz. 182 King Tiger (Henschel) - My First Tank
Re: 1/35 Meng Sd. Kfz. 182 King Tiger (Henschel) - My First
Those are going to be a huge improvement over the kit tracks, and the sag you will get in the end can't be had with plastic link and length.

Those tracks look really good and seems to be, despite some metallic flash, quite straight forward to build.
Now I remember why my Jagdpanther build has stalled.. I don't like at all the kits own tracks.. Perhaps I would need to do something about it...

And those pictures of all those track pieces to assemble makes me thrilled to be only building in 1/72 scale!

I was thinking something along the same lines Mark - all of my current armour kits have rubber band tracks - I've yet to have a go at anything like thisDuke Maddog wrote:And those pictures of all those track pieces to assemble makes me thrilled to be only building in 1/72 scale!![]()

I suspect however the results will be well worth it! Looking forward to seeing more John.

Indy link tracks and connecting pins bring back not so pleasant days of motor pool duty under a steamy sun doing that sort of thing for real... no PTSD, but the suck factor is pretty high...Duke Maddog wrote:And those pictures of all those track pieces to assemble makes me thrilled to be only building in 1/72 scale!![]()

If you're still looking for good references I just found out about this book this morning and already placed my order for it
https://feistbooks.com/shop/books/schwere-panzer/
a 170 pages of great photos of all versions of the King Tiger.
Also here is a review of the book that shows off some of the great stuff inside

Thanks for the resource reference, Clint! Another purchase? Hmmmm.....
The replacement sprue from Meng is in San Diego so I should be taking delivery of them by the end of this week. Not ready to start on this build yet though. The cold is on its way out but I still feel a little groggy and not 100% sharp.

Meng comes through!
All I needed was five parts off of Sprue B. The wheel axles had been sheared off this top sprue but the other three identical sprues were ok.

Instead of five parts, they sent me not one replacement sprue but a sealed bag of four new sprues. In a tan color instead of the primer red, which is not a bad thing. I assume that this sprue is the one that is packaged with the King Tiger Porsche boxing and is identical to the King Tiger Henschel.

A close-up of the contents to show the axles intact.

So I'm good and then some! Kudos to Meng for such responsive customer service!

That's good news plus a lot of extras for the spares bin.
