This is not definitive by any means. However, in our line of work we often go by the best available information, so I am going to blacken the sides with exhaust and not paint. I feel better making this decision.

Within the same information here is useful information and very very very useful blueprints with rivet patterns.

:headslap: Ya know, sometimes I really momentarily hate these threads of such lovely builds. They appeal to my rash impulsive urges to go build one of the same thing for myself, and draw me away from whatever projects that I am currently working on....

CURSE YOU RED BARON!!!!

I'm guilty of that myself Carlos. There's another forum that I'm on where folks will do a community build once a year for one model. Meaning that the admin gets a kit and sends the different parts of the vehicle out to certain members to build. I usually end up with the engine part, there's another guy that'll build the chassis, another with the body and so on. When each member completes the section that they are working on they'll send it back to the admin to assemble everything. I've bought two kits just off of building the engine part of the build.

That sounds fun Joe. But man it could be distracting. At least it’s only once a year. Between GBs form various sites, theme builds for IPMS contests & meetings, and assorted whims that I suddenly chase, it’s a wonder that I get anything done sometimes... LOL!

I just have to hold off on starting any new builds for now. Especially long involved ones.

I feel the same way when I see your projects, Carlos and Joe—I have started kits in both armor and autos based on your work. There is so much to admire in what you do; your choices rock. What Joe described reminds me of an assignment in art school where each student was given the same size sheet of paper as well as a cropped photo. We didn’t see the original image until after we translated the crops to paper. Literally 45 sheets of paper were assembled to reform the photo image... which was fun. A lot of fun. The finished image was the famous still of John Wayne standing backlit in the doorway from “The Searchers.”

This is a remarkable print taken from a Agfa color dia. Check out the chipping on the wing root and the overpainted second chevron. Also the flaps are slightly opened.

That is a great photo.
The searchers my favorite John Wayne movie, that sounds like it was a very fun project.
March as one, Don't look back
Odin's sons... Attack!
Unleash hell! Do not repent! Warfare grants us no lament
Let your weapons slash and tear This is no place for fear
Hold the lines! Move as one! In unity our victory's won
Our shields will form a mighty wall
United we shall never fall
